The Foundation for Insurance & Financial Education, Inc. is a Wisconsin corporation formed by NAIFA Wisconsin in 2004 to benefit the citizens of Wisconsin and the insurance and financial professionals who serve them.

Stated purposes of the Foundation:

  • To provide educational opportunities for students interested in pursuing careers in the insurance and financial services industry;
  • To present educational information regarding insurance and financial services to the general public;
  • To provide continuing education opportunities for individuals in the insurance and financial services industry.

The Foundation is income tax exempt under section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code as a public charity. Contributions to the Foundation are deductible under Section 170 of the Code and the Foundation is qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under sections 2055, 2106 and 2522.The History & Origins of the Foundation.

The original funding for the Foundation was a bequest from the General Agents and Managers Association of Wisconsin (GAMA). It was a part of GAMA Wisconsin’s assets at the time of its earlier dissolution. At the time of its dissolution, half of its remaining assets were given to NAIFA Wisconsin as seed money for this foundation and half was sent to GAMA International.
